I had the privilege of briefly working with Jill at Niagara College last year and was shocked and saddened by her death. She was a much loved and admired member of her community and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Rest in peace Jilly.

Jill was our son’s academic advisor, and she came into our lives at a time when things were not going well at all and we felt lost, frightened and hopeless. She met us with compassion, empathy and positivity and the dark clouds parted,. We immediately felt like our son was going to be OK with Jill on his team. Jill continued to be a great advocate and support for our son in his ongoing academic journey, whatever bumps we encountered. I was glad that our son had her to turn to, and I was so grateful myself to be able to reach out to her when I was anxious or needed information. We didn’t know Jill long, but it was long enough to know she was a wonderful, unique, radiant spirit and that we are better for having known her. Our sincere condolences to Jill’s family for your loss, you are in our hearts at this sad time.

Bob and family, I’m very sorry for your loss. She was a bright light in this world and will be missed tremendously. Keeping you in my prayers.

I would like to express my most sincere condolences to the family as you deal with the loss of a truly great influence in many people’s lives. I can only imagine the type of mother and grandmother she was. I worked very closely with Jill at NC and was witness to the depth of her compassion, empathy and love for her students. Her office was truly a safe space for them but also for any faculty who came to seek assistance. Jill you were one in a million and my life was enriched for knowing you.

We are shocked and saddened by Jill’s passing. She was kind, caring, happy and adored her family. She will be missed greatly. Our deepest condolences to the entire family.

We are shocked at hearing the news of Jill,’s passing she was a wonderful person. Our deepest sympathies go out to Bob, Emma-Lee, Rachel and their families. You’re in our thoughts and prayers.

While I only knew Jill a few short months, the positive impact she had is something I will carry with me forever. While Jill has so many incredible qualities that others have shared, one thing that stood out is how much she loved her family. Every time I saw Jill, she had numerous updates or memories to share about her family, and her love and admiration was evident. She fondly shared with me how much she enjoyed making different types of waffles with her grandchildren, something so small, that she cherished deeply. I feel truly blessed to have been given the chance to get to know her recently, and learn so much about life and kindness through her generosity and advocacy. I will be thinking of you all, and know that I will continue to spread Jill’s light.

Jill was such a ray of sunshine. I’ll never forget how much she cared for people, her compassion, smile & friendship. She was such a champion for our family while our son was in the hospital and we’ll always remember that. Defintely one in a million and loved by so many. Rest in peace sweet Jill.

There is so many wonderful things to say about Jill, that I am struggling to find the right words. She was a wonderful woman, who had such a positive outlook on her life. She was a great example for me when I needed it most.

Jill was a genuine and kind spirit that helped me feel comfortable at Niagara College. Her passing was genuinely shocking for me but through this pain I offer my sincerest condolences to her family and loved ones. NC will never be the same without her. Rest well.

Jill was such an amazing person. Every time I walked into her office I was greeted my the kindest smile. The biggest hello! She coached me through life, struggles, career choices, and my entire time at NC. I’m so sad to hear this. NC won’t be the same without her.

Jill was a very good friend that I had in grade 7 and 8 at Burliegh Hill School and carried on to Merritton High.
Sadly we lost touch our lives went in different directions. I remember watching the love blossom with her and Bob in high school and glad they had many years together. I wish all her family peace at this time.

I am deeply saddened to hear the news of your passing. You helped me through many rough patches in school, you were really a light and joy to visit, you talked me through everything with kindness and understanding. You made an impact on my life, and many others. You will be very missed by many. Sending my condolences and prayers to all Jills loved ones. She was truly special.

My heartfelt condolences to Jills family and friends. I met Jill back in 2005 when we both began our careers at NC. She was one of the kindest friendliest people I have ever met. Always one to make you feel like you were the only person in the room and greeting you with her infectious smile. I am so sorry for your loss.

From the moment I first sat down with Jill as a student at NC we quickly became friends and bonded over our mutual love of Seinfeld. Jill was always kind to me, supported me, and offered me guidance when I needed it most. She was the nicest person I’ve ever met in my life and I will miss her. I’m currently a student at Niagara College, and meeting Jill is one of my highlights of my experience. I knew Jill was a very special person after we talked and I knew I could entrust with her my journey through college. I had the pleasure of working with Jill for the past year at Niagara College. The moment I started, Jill made me feel welcome and ensured I knew I could come to her if I had any questions. Her love for her job and students was apparent from the moment I met her. I’m still in complete shock and offer my sincere condolences to her family. I feel like I know them as Jill often shared a funny or endearing story about her husband, daughters or grandchildren. The office will not be the same without her.

I was both shocked and very saddened to hear the news of Jill’s passing. When I first started at NC, as a new colleague off Jill’s, one of the first things I noticed and immediately loved about Jill was how open, real and down to earth she was. I was in my early advisor days back then, and she was a great mentor, and actually prepared me for the interview that got me the position I am in today. I am forever grateful if the time, support and guidance she gave me. It was then and there we also became friends. There were always laughs (and candies) when at times I needed a break….Jill’s office was always open and always a refuge. She was incredibly well liked by students and staff alike, and her loss is felt by many in the NC community. My deepest condolences to her husband, kids and grandkids. Much strength, love and light in this difficult time.

I was blessed to have worked with Jill. She was a tireless advocate for student success and went well beyond her prescribed duties to help every one she encountered. She was a beautiful soul who made warmer and better the world for us. May everyone carry their lovely memories of her to heal their aching hearts.

I am very saddened to hear of the loss of such a tremendous and highly respected member of the Niagara College community. Jill’s interaction with students was incredible and admired by many. Her dedication and commitment to students was second to none. She took great joy in helping people and always with a smile. I know its so hard to imagine Jill not being with us but her legacy and her impact are known by so many students and peers.

I worked with Jill at NC and used to have lunch with her. She would often talk about her love for her family.
Just last week I was thinking about contacting her to see how she was doing. With shock and sadness, I heard about her passing today. Jill will be missed, and her goodness and kindness will live on. Wishing the family strength and hope.

Jill will be missed tremendously and remembered fondly. As a friend and colleague, we shared nearly two decades of working together with many fond memories and cheerful chats, as recent as days before her passing when we talked about days gone by. Miss Jill Elizabeth, my dear friend, my co-worker ( my boss!). I cannot tell you how much you will be missed. We have done our monthly breakfasts now once a month for 25 years. How do we carry on that tradition without you. Our last breakfast beginning of February we had such a good visit and so many laughs. Loved seeing new pics of your granddaughters, your pride and joy!
